I extend a huge thank you to S. Riley Moneymaker for joining us this month for our second ever Live Q&A on Screen & Writer Spotlight. When total strangers step in to help a new platform grow, oh how we feel it! In our conversation, we touched on the value of building a bridge between emerging screenwriters and people who have already managed to plant their signature in the industry. That is EXACTLY what I built Screen & Writing Spotlight for. My own journey has moved across 30+ years as a full-time professional spoken-word storyteller - very very few of us around as full timers! Tired of the endless motorways and hotels which relentless touring entails, I am now setting my sights on screenwriting. So I guess you can say I am truly a storytelling-pro veteran now looking to brand new pastures. Does it take courage as I approach my 6th decade? Sure, but the juice of adventure has led me down some of my best pathways. A BIG congratulations to Suzanne for recently turning full-time pro screenwriter and director! In this short clip, I reflect on why access to people with practical screen-industry experience matters, and why creating places where those worlds can meet is so valuable.
